I'll be more active in the upcoming period, since I finished my studies. I'll take a shorter 'creative break' before submitting myself to the provocations of the times ahead. But, for now, I'm living my dreams: saying goodbye to the education system, attending rock festivals, hanging out with neglected friends and the sort. I'm in a very positive mood overall, meditating over good memories and preparing myself for exciting challenges.

Also, anyone familiar with my past experiences or my musical taste knows that I'm a huge NuMetal fan, therefore it was a dream come true (for the second time now) to get on stage with my favorite band:
Limp Bizkit - Eat You Alive (w/ FxS)
Words can't describe the motivation one gets from such occurrences.

I hope everyone reading this is similarly happy and satisfied. If you're not, don't give up just yet. Work for it a little bit harder and you'll get there eventually. Believe me. See you all around!

:faint: Today I received my very own Daily Deviation. Although I have mixed feelings right now, I want to thank =caska1979 from the bottom of my heart for taking time and suggesting my deviation and `DpressedSoul for the feature and the awesome work he does for the abstract photo community here on dA.

I have mixed feelings because I never considered myself good or even a photographer. I started uploading sucky photos because friends suggested to, but than it became a hobby and started working on my nonexistent skill. All I can tell to those who are yet to receive a DD is that don't try to appeal to everyone and work hard on what you consider beautiful, what you would like to see more of. I know I will continue to. I'll let the music speak now.

I got the photography itch.

I deleted and/or uploaded a few older shots, but starting today I concentrate on my first dSLR. This means lots of weird/experimental shots uploaded (your inboxes will be flooded), reading free online photography courses (or not) and browsing & studying millions of deviations. The journey just started, but already I feel the adrenaline rush when taking a photo of an interesting subject.

I also got the 'lets crop everything into a perfect square' craze.
(Why are squares sooo appealing!?)

See you around!

I'll be off for quite a while: exams, than going to work in the U.S. with ~FxSolya (and of course will follow Limp Bizkit and KoRn on the East Coast leg of their U.S. tours). Hopefully I can put away some money for a DSLR (I have my eyes set on the 550D) and start picking up photography more seriously.

So, have a very pleasant summer; see you guys in mid fall.

Limp Bizkit - The Channel

I don't like the radio
I don't like tv
They're selling so much shit these days
And this shit is not who I want to be
I don't like officials
Using rank to pretend they're not crooks
I don't like the tricks played on kids
in those shitty teen metal books
I don't like my heroes
To kill themselves with the drugs
I don't think success
can fill you up when you need love
I don't like the whores
That try to fuck you for your game
I don't like my childhood
And do not need somebody else to blame

This is the channel I'm dialed into
I already know you, are dialed in too

I don't like this music
I don't like this band
I like what we're about
and mock what you cannot understand
I don't like being paranoid
I don't like that I'm breeding again
but I accept all these cards I've been dealt
And do not be your motherfucking friend

This is the channel I'm dialed into
I already know you, are dialed in too

Who gives a fuck about what I like
who gives a fuck about who listens
as long as I'm here
as long as you know you can keep me here
for whenever you get lost
or you need an excuse to cover up your intentions
you hate that I express how I'm feeling
you hate that you relate to this shit
you hate that I'm a tick
a motherfucking tick
you're finding hard to forget!

This is the channel I'm dialed into
I already know you, are dialed in too

All of my active watchers know that I'm a Limp Bizkit fan(atic) and was planning my trip to the Volt Festival in Hungary for a while now. Well, It just happens to be that July the 2nd was the best day of my life.

I don't want to bore you with details (all those who speak Hungarian and want to read my detailed review, can find it here</acronym>). I just want to say that after a very bad day, LB gave an extremely good show (one of the best of the "Unicorns and Rainbows Tour") AND! I was chosen by Fred on stage. I can't describe what an important and great thing this is for me. I'll be seeing the world in pink for a few months at least. I will never forget this. And to be an a-hole, I also want to share that all of the band members signed my fullcap that night. I'm... simply... speechless. My girlfriend said that that night I even smiled in my sleep.

These said, here are a few related links:

nuMetal ressurects...

(I know, many don't even acknowledge the existence of such a genre and lots of bands hate this label and whoever was once "nu metal" is now "alternative metal", "hard rock" or "post-grunge", still you have to call them somehow...)

After about 2002 nuMetal bands started to vanish due to various reasons after almost a decade of blooming. Even major music channels started to favor greasy pop-punk & hardcore, and of course "Emo" bands. These lack any messages, novelty and rhythm (speaking of the mainstream ones; of course, as in everything, there are exceptions, though I still detest those - nuMetal doesn't necessarily accomplish these criteria; I'm speaking about the overall atmosphere). I'm really happy, because more and more artists go back to their roots (the ones, who changed their style since the second half of the 90s), break their hiatus, or even reunite to once again change contemporary popular music, and much awaitedly lift it to the level of classical music; achievement which only psychedelic rock, progressive rock and partly grunge was able to do in my opinion (I don't like these genres, but bow before their accomplishments).

So... watch out for nuMetal (and post-grunge) artists, because what happened a decade ago will repeat itself, only this time in a more mature way.

I'll be on a much needed 2 week break - including the LB show in Sopron (I can't attend the one in Bucharest also :( ;P ).
See y'all in two weeks!

It isn´t something you can hold,
It isn´t something you own,
It isn´t something you can buy or steal,
You have got it when you are alone.

But being free is a tragedy,
When you don't know yourself,
Being free is a tragedy,
When you don't know who you are.

One week off from work -> more time for dA (among others).

Yes, I hate my job (I'm locked up with morons, whose only subjects are how to lay a woman and how to get drunk every evening. I work for free, hoping that someone will send money so I could waste it on the stockmarket in order to get rich. - I could get 3 years in prison for sharing this. - I am far from family, friends and love because the situation is even worse at home.) and YES I lied so I could stay home for a week.

Only two things matter right now
(besides my family, friends and my girlfriend):
1) Limp Bizkit will play in their original line-up at this year's Volt Festival (Sopron, Hungary - July 2nd). I'll be there even if I have to walk there.
2) I'll do everything this year in order to get accepted to the MA courses. ANYTHING...

I'll be away for a while (many-many months if everything goes well). No, I'm not leaving dA: I got an uncertain job in Debrecen, Hungary (I don't know where I'll stay, whit whom and what will I work exactly). This means that I'll be online once a week in the best scenario (every weekend, when I'm coming home).

For those who are interested in my "works" aka "the stuff": I didn't manage to do everything I planned. I still have a photomanipulation in my mind, but that would have taken a lot of time, so I'm putting that aside for a while. I also have to leave the "lets scan every little stupid sheet of paper and it'll make a good texture to upload" movement. No older deviation was updated, and possibly won't be for a long-long time. The brush set is the only thing I can speak of positively: the basics are ready, few are scanned in. I hope I will finish that by this summer... I'm still very proud that my Tribal Tattoo set</acronym> was named the 5th best Photoshop Brush in 2008 by *OibyrdsDDs. There is a slight chance that I will upload new pics in the next months, but that will be reduced drastically also. A last important thing: I'll try to make and upload as many designs for the devWEAR contest as possible until I leave.

I wish good luck and happiness to everyone who reads this journal; and a huge digital hug to my watchers . Try to live every moment of your life... I'll come online as often as possible.

One more thing: Limp Bizkit will play in their original line-up at this year's Volt Festival (Sopron, Hungary). I'll be there even if I have to walk there.

"This is my life
It's not what it was before
All these feelings I've shared
And these are my dreams
That I've never lived before

And now that we're here, so far away
All the struggle we thought was in vain
And all the mistakes, one life contained
They all finally start to go away
And now that we're here, so far away
And I feel like I can face the day
And I can forgive
And I'm not ashamed, to be the person that I am today

And these are my words
That I've never said before
I think I'm doin' okay
And this is the smile
That I've never shown before"

In the next few weeks/months I'll dig myself in a number of "projects". First of all, I have a new idea for a photomanip. I know: I said I won't do more 'cuz they're a little stupid and too popular (goth girls in woods with deers, witches, zombies, fruits with eyes & mouths, lion headed gulls, people with six hands and one... wheel). Anyway, I've got an idea about which I like to think it's original. I'd like to do a thorough job on it, so it'll last a while.

And if this isn't enough, I also want to get acquainted with the "lets scan every little stupid sheet of paper and it'll make a good texture to upload" stuff.

I will also try to find my old photos and re-upload them, so the original quality would be here, not these sh.tty ****s (my browser wouldn't let me upload bigger files than 1Mb at the time of their original upload).

Furthermore, I will try to make a new brush set in the near future: not a huge one like my Tribal Tattoo set</acronym>, but something simple. BTW. the set I am talking about got a feature</acronym> by *OibyrdsDDs. It was named the 5th best Photoshop Brush in 2008, so I'm really really-really happy and thankful. (Thanks again!) ...and since she has enough on her head already, I'm still thinking about summing up her Best of the Best 2008 - Top 10 "series" (18 parts) and post a news article so people would become more familiar with her tremendous work.

And, of course, FxS wouldn't be FxSanyi if he hadn't took a few new "worthy to upload" shots - insert :uploading_pending: smiley here.

Not planning to update da journal until something really important or new happens, so: take care until than!

One more thing: if you're familiar with NuMetal/rapcore music, keep an eye out for Limp Bizkit: 2009 will rock hard.

2009

Journal Entry: Sat Jan 3, 2009, 1:59 AM

Better or worse?

First of all: Happy New Year!

The past two or three days I wondered what 2009 meant for me. Last New Year's Eve I fell into the trap of saying to myself that '08 will be a special year, full of difficulties to overcome, and a lot happier than 2007. Well... I overestimated my capabilities: few of the hurdles were taken well, at others I fell. I know, this is simply called life; still 2008 was a little disappointment to me.

I learned my lesson: I won't plan ahead for long periods of time. I'll try to overcome (or to get around) only the problems before my eyes. 2009 will pass under the Veni, vidi, vici / Carpe diem spirit for me. Will see if it's better or worse.

Let me know what 2009 means to you.

PS1 I'm still looking for my Secret Santa
PS2 I'll try to add more to my feature list until I can

To whom? Good question, isn't it?

:bulletred: My Santa

I received a subscription donation this evening. I spoke with a few admins about this, but they told me that I should have received an e-mail notification. Well... I didn't.
So, I have a secret Santa. I would like to ask this person to contact me; I don't understand why anyone would be so benevolent, so I would like to say thanks at least.
Until this is sorted out, I dive into the world of the subscribers: CSS, polls, shoutbox, no ads, "way back" option on the main page. Maybe I'll make my first poll about who you guys think is my secret Santa.
This is truly a huge gift, I appreciate it, don't get me wrong, but at the same time I am confused about why I got it. There are many true artists on DA, I'm here only to enjoy art, and maybe get inspiration for work I am looking forward next year.

:bulletred: Your Santa

That would be me! I know... my ego again :D
No, seriously: as I've mentioned in my previous journal, I dedicate my newest upload (a huge set of tribal brushes) to anyone who visits my gallery and has Photoshop installed on his/her computer.
I know I told it before, but I am serious about this: I want to give something back for the incredible amount of works/resources I've downloaded between creating my account (back in 2006) and starting using it (last month).

Also, I'll try to figure out fully this feature stuff and will do some featuring until my subscription ends. I want other people to also benefit from this striking gift.

I'll be off for a while (possibly 1-2 weeks) working on a hopefully useful 700+ high quality tribal tattoo brush set. Keep your fingers crossed! :fingerscrossed:

:lightbulb: 700+ :lightbulb:
No, not the quality is 700+.
There will be more than 700 brushes!

Why am I so committed? First of all, I want to give back something to you guys (I have downloaded tonnes of brushes, patterns and textures, and many times I don't even know who created them); and of course 'cuz I have nothing to do: no job, no school, no nothing...
So, I feel the need to do something with that tiny creativity tingling the right hemisphere of my brain.

Now... this doesn't mean that I won't even be online sometimes. I just won't create or upload new deviations until this is finished.

This is going to be my X-mas present to you all!
:santa: :rudolph:

:lightbulb: UPDATE Dec 12 :lightbulb:
OK... so I started to do this seriously today, and I'm glad to say that it will be ready in a few days (possibly 2-3 more days). And! There won't be 700+ brushes, but 869!!! in about 17 sets.
AKA It'll be a Mega Brush Pack. ^^
I'm really excited.

:lightbulb: UPDATE Dec 14 :lightbulb:
DONE! The sets are finished! I have a few more things to check and correct on the sets, a little balancing and so on (although it would be good as it is :p but sometimes I'm juts too perfectionist). I'll make a few preview pics to the sets (the final number is 16; with the mentioned 869 brushes), an appendix (but I think I will just skip that and let everyone discover the brushes; hence they are tribal... very little thing is similar between them: I sorted them according to theme -in two sets- and by form in the others), the copyrights text (there will be none ;P I just want people to use it and of course send me a link with their masterpieces - I don't even care if it is commercial or not) and the official cover.
Another difficulty is that (as some know or discovered) I can't upload bigger files than 1023kb (aka 1Mb or more); so I will have to do it from my brothers PC. (The file is around 40 Mb )
I didn't even sleep well in the past few days, I was so excited (and tired ;P), so: I'll go relax today a bit (since it is Sunday ) but I'll finish these today. I will upload the final version this evening (GMT +2), so keep an eye out for something SPECIAL. ;)

In celebration of the Saw franchise I created a little game a while ago. This way my players could be part of the atmosphere of these movies, or could simply relive the experience. They could solve the puzzle without watching the Saw movies, but could they win?

:lightbulb: What did they have to do?
Jigsaw doesn't always tell his victims clearly what they have to do, so I did the same. Instead, as he does, I gave them a few hints (important or misleading? you decide...), which they had to find in various places:
- First hint: Your playground is this picture: [link]
- Second hint: Watch the Saw movies
- Third hint: I am FxS
- Fourth hint: How do Leigh Whannell and Cary Elwes' characters find the spot marked by the X?
- Fifth hint: Why is my journal's title say "See what I see!" ?
It was impossible to finish the game without reading the hints. It was difficult even after reading them.

Once someone entered the game, heshe was put in the "In the game" list; and to make things more interesting, I gave only a week to every player to think about the possible solution. If they came up with a false solution they were moved to the "Victims". Who tried to submit a good answer could win, but this way risked "killing" the other players.

As Jigsaw in the movie, I also found true followershelpers, who were once players:
:iconmewfanatic: ~Mewfanatic and !TheTrueProphet :iconthetrueprophet:
They spared the other players' lives...
Both of them solved my puzzle in about half an hour!

Although the game ended after only 3 weeks (due to the lack of players), you can still try and solve my puzzle. ;)
The original news article about the game can be found here: [link]

-----------------------------------------------------------

In the game (don't forget the rules): /////////////////

-----------------------------------------------------------

Victims (learn from their mistakes):

In celebration of the Saw franchise I created a little game for you. This way you can be part of the atmosphere of these movies, or simply relive the experience.

*What to do?
Jigsaw doesn't always tell his victims clearly what they have to do, so I'll do the same. Instead (as he does) I will give you a few hints (important or not? you decide...):
First hint: :lightbulb: Your playground is this picture: [link] :lightbulb:
Second hint: can be found in the comment of your playground
Third hint: can be found in my first journal entry
Fourth hint: is somewhere in my gallery
It is impossible to finish this game without reading the hints. It will be very difficult even after you read them.

*How to enter?
Fav. this news article. After doing so, write me a note with the subject "I wanna play the game" and I will add you to the "In the game" list.

*How to submit your solution?
First of all, you have to be in the "In the game" list. Next step is to upload your version and send a note about it. Your upload has to indicate clearly (by whatever means) the solution, and in your comment you have to describe in a few words how you got to the solution, as well as crediting the original work.
If you come up with a false solution, you will be moved to the "Victims" list.
aka! If you don't hurry, you can't win; but if you are too careless and submit a bad solution as fast as you can, your game will also be over (just like in the movie).

*Award(s)!
The first one to submit the good answer wins, but this way "kills" all other players (these also will be moved to the "Victims" category).
Are you willing to sacrifice the others? Do you have the guts to play, knowing you can "die"?
The winner will receive a custom logo from me, a Saw V poster, a feature in my journal, plus the knowledge of you being the best.
(I would like to ask everyone to contribute with any kind of prize for this person.)

I don't like writing journals... never enjoyed it; so, this is only a one-off entry to explain a few things.

I updated this profile just because certain people insisted on uploading a few of my stupid works and photos (girls...).

Unfortunately my works aren't professional (nor really original) since I'm no real artist like most people here, but would like to express my personality through these silly attempts, and/or simply submit something useful to other people.

Please look at my deviations from this perspective, and ............. THANKS FOR VISITING.

Your opinions\interpretations or any form of feedback (be it constructive or critical) are welcome.
